You are not alone. A majority of women will experience one if not all of these at some time in their lives. Women report these symptoms with aging, menopause, vaginal childbirth, breast feeding, breast cancer. These changes can make women feel self conscious and uncomfortable in intimate settings. Until recently, women’s options have been limited to estrogen replacements, vaginal lubricants, surgical interventions or nothing. Some women cannot or do not want to use estrogens and others do not want the down time associated with surgery. Welcome Femilift, an innovative nonsurgical treatment to improve women’s intimate health with 3 five minute treatments.
What is Femilift and how does it work?
Femilift is a fractionated CO2 laser that combines ablation with heat to resurface the inside of the vagina and stimulate collagen and elastin. Femilift causes micro injuries in the vaginal mucosa which causes resurfacing of the interior of the vagina. It also heats the tissue to 60 degrees celsius which is the temp needed to stimulate collagen and elastin. This improves moisture and elasticity and changes the Ph of the vagina.
Am I a candidate for Femilift?
Many women are good candidates for the Femilift laser treatments. You will be seen by one of our physicians to determine if it is right for you. If so, the procedure can be performed that day, no rescheduling necessary.
Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is the loss of urine with coughing, sneezing, laughing, jumping or exercise. SUI is caused by a weakening of the muscles and tissues that support the bladder and urethra. Common causes of SUI include age, vaginal deliveries and yes, genetics.
Treatment for SUI includes kegel exercises, pelvic floor physical therapy, and surgical slings. For some women, kegel’s and PT don’t help enough and they do not want to undergo surgery. For these women, we now have the option of the Femilift laser.
What is Femilift and how does it work for SUI?
Femilift is a fractionated CO2 laser which heats the tissues that support the bladder neck and urethra, thus stimulating collagen and elastin. This plumps the tissues and provides support to the area, thereby improving if not resolving the symptoms of SUI.
Is Femilift right for me?
SUI requires a thorough evaluation to determine the best treatment for each patient. Femilift is a great treatment option for many women, but it is not right for everyone. You will be seen by one of our physicians to determine if you are a good candidate.
